Forward In Grace Church & Ministries The praise and worship at Grace is mainly contemporary in style, although we do throw in the occasional hymn. Working with a committed team of worshippers, the music ministry had drawn many compliments from both visitors and members alike. Tony's vision is that the team should become all they can become, skillfully playing on the instruments and using harmony with the voices. We are also looking to expand the team as the church grows, and hope to add another guitar player and some horn players in the near future. Some of our young people have recently started a contemporary dance group, adding yet a further depth to our worship. Drama is also used from time to time, and this is another area we hope to expand and build on in the future. The praise and worship is an exciting time at Grace, and we both feel and experience the presence of God as we lift up his name. We actively encourage both vocal and physical expressions of praise. Singing, shouting, dancing, lifting hands are all regularly a part of the expression of our worship at Grace. We believe that the praise and worship is a time that we can give back to the Lord and encourage everyone to get involved. Praise and worship at Grace is definitely not a spectator sport! About our Praise leader  Tony Mettrick Tony Mettrick has only been the worship leader at Grace since the year 2000 but has been actively involved in leading worship for over 30 years. During that time he has traveled to many different countries on three continents teaching about and leading worship. Before moving to the USA in 1989 Tony worked full time with an evangelistic team in England called the Good News Crusade when he was both worship leader and field administrator. Since moving to the US, Tony has been a full time worship leader at a church in Indianapolis and pastor at a church in a small town south of Jacksonville IL. He is currently employed by State Farm Insurance.  Tony has been married to Carol for nearly 26 years. They have 4 children, the eldest who is a teacher, the youngest who is in 3rd grade! Carol also comes from England and is currently employed at Cornerstone Christian Academy where she teaches pre-school. During the early years of marriage they were able to travel together but as the children began to grow more and more Carol stayed at home to concentrate on raising them. As the children grew she was able to return to teaching full time, and finds great fulfillment in her current position. They currently live in Leroy IL.
